Is your significant other a sports fan?

I am a HUGE sports fan, as is Todd. I grew up in a house with 3 brothers, so when I was younger it was either be miserable or like sports. I chose the latter, and actually ended up becoming an obsessive sports fan! My mom has actually told people numerous times that I should have been a boy because I am a bigger sports fan than any of my brothers. I would rather watch a ballgame than a chick flick any day of the week.

Todd and I are die hard Alabama Crimson Tide fans. We plan our fall schedule around theirs. Todd has actually turned down being in a friend's wedding due to it being the same day as the Iron Bowl! I am also a die hard Red Sox fan. Todd isn't really into MLB, but he cheers for them just because he knows it is in his best interest:devil::D.
Lol, well who schedules a wedding on Iron Bowl saturday???? Or any saturday during the fall?

I have missed countless family weddings because they just dont get it. Most of the time I am the only family member not there, but they understand....or dont....they got over it in any case:D

Wife "was" a sports fan when we were dating. But it seems now she would rather read a book when the games/match/race are on. I think i was suckered!

Nah, she's just grown up. My wife did the same. I think she tries to counter balance my LSU bullshite with a little sanity. ;)

My wife is a huge Reds fan and for good reason!!!...

Not only was she born and lived her whole life in Northern Kentucky until she moved up here to Indy, her great grandfather was a catcher for the Reds back in the 20's!!!...:D

However she had to change her stripes, so to speak, when she moved and started rooting for the Colts instead of the Bengals. (it was not a hard decision to make!!!...;))

And our first date was at a then Busch race in Kentucky!!!...:)

My wife is a baseball and football fan, like myself.

 She is a SF Giants fan...
We are also political opposites as well...

SandraC, your boyfriend is not a true sports fan, he is trying to make you happy, I live in so cal now but grew up in NY (watching the mets-cards game now, 5-0 mets) a true fan sticks with their teams no matter what, I have been a mets fan since 1974 oakland/LA raiders fan since 1975 ny rangers since 1980 ny knicks since early 80's notre dame football since 1980 never changed my allegiance once, not for a woman or for my teams being awful, look at my list of teams, last championship victory for any of my teams was the 1994 rangers, the others were over 20 yrs but they are my teams and always will be

I'm thinking this is a good thing...;)

Sandra

Except when the initial lovey-dovey phase wears off and his true colors start to show. ;) Trust me, everything used to be all sunshines and puppy kisses when we were all in the dating phase of our relationships. If he's truly not that big of a sports fan now and just watches because of you, the longer you stay together, he may eventually put his foot down one day and say "ENOUGH WOMAN", and demand to watch Days of Our Lives over the NFL :)

He's an average sports fan, he's just not as obsessive as I am. If he was, we would have a TV in the bedroom after all. We don't...and trust me, that's a very good thing!!! ;)

He's taught me to have a little more balance in life. Oh, and he brought that big new toy to the house too. Gotta love a big.....um.......Sony! :luvlove: :dev :D

That comes after a year or so (pardon the pun).
;)

That is very true! We didn't have a TV in our bedroom at first either. Now, we have a 42" plasma. Our living room TV was struck by lightning and is being repaired right now. So, we moved the bedroom TV to the living room temporarily and rather than go without one in the bedroom for a week or two, msmith is actually transporting the TV from his office back and forth every night and morning.. lol

you are killing someone on this site with this info!!!:devil::D

Way to go. You just stabbed a knife through Sabres heart! :D:D:D

My wife will plan her night to make sure she can watch the Cavs game start to finish. She'll watch the Indians, Browns, & Buckeyes if she has nothing better to do (unless it's a playoff game). As far as watching sports when one of her teams isn't playing - - -- I think she'd rather stare at a wall. :)

How about being married to a true blue Canadian Born Toronto Maple Leafs Fan? When Sabres and Leafs play she will wear either the White or Blue Leaf Jersey and I will wear either a Vintage Richard Martin Jersey or and modern day Sabres Jersey.

Every Saturday Night during the Hockey season; (thank God for PIP), it is Sabres game on one side of the screen and the Leafs game on the other.:D
