hi had dish for a week now and i got my first receipt already, and it saids that im getting charge $50 for upgrading?? wtf it saids "upgrade charge" but upgrade what?

Don't know your set-up...hard to answer without knowing your package & equipment... but we had to pay the upgrade for an HD-DVR Dual Receiver. Did you get your $50 sign-up credit too?

Certain receivers (722 for instance), cost money, even to new customers.... the promotions change all the time so you might have signed up when the 722s weren't offered for free (which is currently the case I just found out a few days ago)

Give them a call... you MIGHT have a credit coming on the next bill, depending on the promotion.

If you sign up with no contract then its $50 upfront cost, but they waive it if you sign the 24 month contract.

Call them up and ask what is going on. If they insist on you paying that fee, threaten to cancel service and that should work.
