Is there any benefit turning off receivers

When I turn off my HR-22's, they continue to record scheduled programs. This makes me think that when I turn them "off" (standby) that the video/audio out is killed, and nothing else. Do I really need to I turn off the receivers when I turn off the TV? Is it different for non-dvr receivers?

Edit, I guess the blue lights turn off as well... any other reason one would turn it off?

It really doesn't matter if you turn it off or not.
It basically just turns the lights off, the rest is still operational for recording purposes.

Thanks Jimbo, I suspected as much but wasn't sure. When we had *cough comcast cough* I mad sure we NEVER turned them off for fear of losing recordings or settings. After 3 months I am really happy we signed up for D*

Yes, but it is also spinning when the unit is off
