I've seen a few "pauses" in bringing up pages. I just figured it was one or more of the myriad script libraries that modern websites link to.

Scott used to put page stats at the bottom, but that must not be an option under XenForo. He knows a lot of us are Stats Nerds...🤓

edit: and in fact, posting this post to this thread took 4-5 seconds, blue line racing and the three vertical lines pulsing in the upper right.

Ok as a PC now... and logged in to the server. It is doing a backup and GZIP is slowing things down. Looks like it is a complete backup of SatelliteGuys not just an incremental backup.

I am keeping an eye on it. I don't want to kill it if its almost done. But don't want it to keep running if its stuck and I have seen it get stuck before.

The GZIP is complete. Now its transferring the file to the S3 offsite backup.

GZIP will use up to 100 percent of the CPU(s) unless you put a limit on it.

You can also schedule the chron job for late at night when most people are sleeping.

It is set for 2 am. But will delay if the system is doing something else.

With that said the system is requesting a reboot, so I am going to do that in a few minutes. Luckily reboots only take a few seconds.
