Actually I ran into this yesterday with a lady. She left in 2005 as a Non-pay disconnect, and wanted to get setup with a 625 DVR and re-activate service.
She didn't qualify for Formers DHA because of the Non-Pay, so the CSR re-activated her account and tried to qualify her for Dish N it up.
The problem is that you cannot qualify for Dish N it up with no recent payment history, you need to keep the account active for a few months and then you would qualify for former customer upgrade promotions!
To make things worse, she tried to be sneaky about the whole thing. She called me up and signed up as a new customer under DHA using her huspands name and her cell phone number. We got an installation date for her, but they caught the duplicate account and cancelled the work order for the new install. Whoever caught the duplicate account at DISH Network did not call her or contact me to let us know it was cancelled.
The reason why I know this is because she took the whole day off work for Friday and was ranting and raving on the phone with me all day long trying to get me to compansate her for a days worth of lost work.
She was the one who lied to me to begin with by trying to sign up as a new customer and did not inform me that she had service in the past!
