Is Chuck Renewed?

With a huge cut one has to wonder if it will be more than just Sarah/Chuck/Casey on the show any more? Half the show was the interaction with all the crazy co-workers and half baked excuses for missing things while out doing spy work.

He quit the Buymore though.

Yeah, given the new I know Kung Fu Chuck, and with the blown cover, there is no reason to continue with that cover. Say goodbye to Jeffster. :( (But I do have the shirt ;) )

D$%^^& NBC, they are sadly learning from CBS' efforts to kill Jericho.

I will watch every episode any hope for the best.

Chuck is one of the best shows on TV and it is a shame that NBC doesn't market it more than what they do. They haven't learned anything since the nineties and this is the reason that they won't crack the top twenty for another year. NBC Sucks, Chuck Rocks, Put it on the 101 Network.

The cover is not really blown, only Devon knows.

Perhaps he will go under cover in a new BuyMore or some other store and have a new cast of zany co-workers. I have a feeling his Kung Fu (and other new abilities) will only surface for a short time under certain circumstances, not something that can be relied on. Remember when he flashed on some kung fu characters he turned into the black belt. Perhaps it goes away and he will flash on something else next time.

I don't necessarily see "budget cuts" signalling the death knell of Jeffster and other key support characters. The cast of Chuck is made up primarily of unknowns (before season 1 launched), so the actors that play them are probably not making the big $$. Compare Chuck's cast to say something like that of My Own Worst Enemy where you had Christian Slater, Alfre Woodard, Saffron Burrows, James Cromwell, and Madchen Amick. Now that had to be on the pricey side. I see the cuts taking place more in terms of special effects, car chases/crashes, sets, on location filming, etc.

So I take it that Friday Night Lights will follow Chuck on Friday's this fall then? That will be the lineup then Jay Leno?

Perhaps if one of the new shows flops they could move a spring show into the fall to cover for it. It would be nice if they had to use the back nine option on episodes for Chuck.

Local paper had a story about the "time-share" between Heroes and Chuck. They talked about how NBC is trying this to avoid running re-runs, and to find a way out of the basement. Yeah, cutting our favorite shows in half is going to solve that problem.

Its worth repeating for the thousandth time - screw NBC and the same to Jay Leno.

Or, how about a 26 episode order for both. Then have no repeats for an entire year!

I like headlines but its only on once a week. I guess if it was on more than that then it would get old real fast.

I see what you guys are saying. It is basically one hour's worth of primetime gone although it would be the same amount of time that FOX has for it's primetime (8-10 pm each night). It seems like "filler". Look at what happened with the Today Show, got lots of hours that it is on now. I guess they had to do that to make up for the lost 2 pm slot with no soap opera on at that time (and perhaps making up for lost time since they took Santa Barbara off the 3 pm timeslot a long time ago as well).

I don't care. We don't need 5 nights of Jay Leno in prime-time. Nor should it suck up 1/3 of the M-F primetime schedule; for what Headlines and Jaywalking?
How long does anyone really think he will last though? I don't know anyone who watches Leno and I can't imagine him getting good ratings in a primetime slot.
