Irritating habits that announcers say

When is their first game?

I want to hear these guys and see if they are as good as you have them as.

It's called, in honor of a team we have debated about, "The Arizona Cardinals test.'

If they can make a game between so-so teams or a blowout sound meaningful, they pass.
McDonough, Bilas and Raftery will do the Maui Invitaional. See if they can entertain you when Carolina plays Chaminade.

One thing has been getting to me for a while...

If I hear one more idiot announcer say "defensing" or "defensed," I might put a fence pole through their head.

Is defended or defending REALLY that hard?

I do not like watching games with Dick Vitale commentating. First of all, I hate being yelled at. He describes everything that happens on the court like it's never happened before. Secondly, I hate the way he fawns all over Duke, and Mike K in particular. He is not objective in that area at all. Thirdly, I hate how he fawns over all college coaches...he calls a UConn - Syracuse game like it's only Jim Calhoun vs. Jim Boeheim. Fourthly, I hate how he does not analyze a game well, rarely breaks down X's and O's, and will never criticize a coach.

Did I mention I don't like to be yelled at?

Madden, whenever he states the obvious.
"It's 3rd down and 4, if they make 4 yard, it'll be a first down and they get a new set of down." Okay... Mr. Obvious.

Hi, brainie.

Sorry about your bad weekend- UK loses a heartbreaker, and both the Bengals AND Redskins had a bye.

After that UK game Saturday, I don't think I could have taken a Bengals' loss on Sunday.

BTW, ramy is the Redskins fan, not me. (DEFINITELY not me.) After the Bengals, I like the Vikings, Patriots, and Cowboys.

Mine goes to just about ALL football announcers...

Calling End Arounds a Reverse and true Reverses a Double Reverse.

For those that think I am wrong:

An end around is when a WR comes thru and takes a Hand off and runs around the end.

A reverse is when he is getting close to going around the end, he hands it off again, REVERSING the direction of the play.

Sean McDonough/Jay Bilas/Bill Raftery= the best broadcast team in ALL sports today, IMO.

Absolutely. No where is there a more entertaining and informative broadcasting team in sports today.

As for annoying habits, Joe Beninati, my least favorite announcer in all of sports, and his tendency to call every goal the exact same way, regardless of importance or lack there of.

"HE SCORES!!!!! *Name of player here*" Whether it's a go ahead goal in the dying seconds or a goal that put a team up 6-0, he'll call it that way. How he's the number 2 guy at Versus above guys like John Forslund and Dave Strader I'll never know.
