Please actually view the video of Lara Logan speaking about reporting from Iraq. She said they used to be able to drive to places outside of Baghdad, but now they need military escorts and use helocoptors.
I guess the 80 or so journalists that have been killed over there were just sitting around the pool sipping their liberal koolaid when they died huh?

On a serious note: Hokie you are dead right. 1 death is 1 too many and car wrecks and war deaths are like comparing apples to oranges. A car you can controll, A president playing war mongual you cant controll. Personally I also to think that americans are so tired of pres bush that dems will also easly win.

2300 people have died in the War over 3 years. Big deal. In 2004 we lost over 38,000 Americans in automobile accidents. In war people die. As wars go this casualty rate is nothing. I find it amazing how people sign up for all of the perks of military life, free education, home loans with nothing down, health care, retirement etc, then everyone whines when theres actually a war? Guess what? The job of the military is to fight and sometimes people die. If you are not willing to risk that then dont sign up thinking its a free ride.
As far as 9/11 goes that happened before the Iraq War. It was an unprovoked terrorist attack on this country.

yes you are. 9/11 happened before the war in Iraq. It was an unprovoked terrorist attack against this country. A more truthful statement would be the 9/11 was the direct result of NOT declaring war on terrorism.Chado said:

According to info on wikipedia.org, approximately 418,500 Americans died as a result of WWII (including military and civilian deaths).
According to the CDC, in 2003 approximately 2,448,288 Americans died of all causes. Historical data shows around 10,764,000 Americans died of all causes in the decade 1940 - 1949.
So in the scheme of things I guess WWII wasn't that big a deal either? Not to mention those insignificant activities in Korea and Vietnam.

I don't think anyone would say 400,000 is an insignificant number of people. 2300 is not insignificant either-I don't want to see one American die. The figures are there to provide prospective and that is what is missing in the war debate IMO.

More people died in ONE DAY during WWII than all of IRAQ. Why not look at it from an honest point of view? SPIN SPIN SPIN.
The reson more people come away injured in Iraq is because we have the medical teams in place to help them VERY QUICKLY, unlike WWII.
Why do dems seam so upset that these soliders are making it out alive but injuried? It apears you all would be happier if they died instead so you can gain political power from that!?!
