IR/RF Question

Is it possible to use my IR Harmony Remote at the same time as as RF on the DirecTV remote? I'd like to back-feed with an RF modulator to the bedroom so we can view DTV recordings on our TV in there. Unfortunately, at the moment if I enable RF mode on the DirecTV remote so we can control from there, my Harmony 550 stops working as IR no longer seems to be active. Is there a workaround for this?

Sorry, but the recievers can operate only in RF or IR modem, not both at the same time.

You might want to check out the CE forum for a possible solution for software being tested at the moment.

The workaround would be to use an IR extender from the BR.
But, be warned that the remote IR emitter at the receiver may cause weird responses.

Unless I'm confused, won't this still have him sending an IR signal to his receiver? His Directv remote is using RF, receiver won't take both RF and IR at the same time.
My proposal, call Directv or go to ebay, buy another Directv RF remote for the BR.
