iphone o.s. 3.0, mms included?

Tethering is built in but its up to your carrier to let you use the feature.

What do you mean? There is only one carrier, AT&T.

From page 33 of "iPhone The Missing Manual" we get "AT&T (formerly Cingular) has the iPhone exclusively at least until 2012."

AT&T is for the US only. There are many other carriers across the world that carries iPhones.

I think the major concern here is the U.S.

I guess I'll be buying another data plan at work, instead of a tethering plan. Grumble.

I dont know if I trust that, I mean he might be right, but I doubt that, I guess time will tell...but yes other carriers then ATT do carry the iphone.

I noticed that they show live streaming in the list of features. I wonder if that means that the sling player will be able to get approval?

No Flash Player. I can't believe it.

During the Q&A part of the session a question of Flash came up. This is what was said.

Q: Flash? What are you doing?
A: We have no announcements on that topic today. But there are a lot of video streams we can handle. h.264 works great. We're adding HDTV streaming for audio and video. We think there's a lot of great video solutions for a single clip.

The part I bolded could be interpreted as that there is something brewing in the future but they aren't ready to announce anything yet.

yep I think you are right, apple likes to make sure things are running very smoothly before they do anything, and also they like to be in control so thats why long delays sometimes, make people work by their schedule nad no one else's.

On the web like IPHONE RUMORS IPHONE SCHOOL they are reporting that VIRZION will carry the IPHONE in 2010 when the current contract with ATT run out.

Emphasis on "rumors." Maybe.

Those rumors could be Verizon FUD. As Navychop said elsewhere it is in Verizon's best interest to float these kind of rumors to try to stop people from switching especially if what Navy also found is correct - the contract runs through 2012 instead of 2010.

Well I can't download the 3.0 SDK unfortunately. Before the SDK was free, and now if you want to get it you need to pay $99 to get your hands on it. :(

can you give me proof that it runs through 2012

Nice catch. Thanks. USAToday is about as good a source as we're going to get. I doubt that anyone is going to publish the actual contract, for competitive reasons.
