It never will, if you want that feature your going to need to upgrade.
The CPU in the Hopper with Sling is what does the video encoding needed to do the transfers. The CPU on other receivers can not do that encoding.

You mean you just bought a new iPad with 64gb? There is no way to upgrade an existing device...
An HD movie ranges between 1-3 gb and a show is between 150mb-1 gb in my experience.
Be advised that iPad transfer only works with Hopper with Sling, not the original Hopper....

Message just isn't getting thru. People want their last year's model auto/cell phone/etc to be upgradeable to the current year's capabilitites.
Oh wait- is that only for satco STBs?
What gets me is, how do people find out about the transfers without seeing the disclaimer that it's only for Hopper 2.0? Almost all the recent discussions about the feature have had that disclaimer somewhere nearby.

So sorry I misspoke. To be perfectly clear, I just got 1 Hopper w/sling, 1 original Hopper/ 2 Joeys installed that day. I do read.
