iOS 12 beta

Will 12 support at least two people for facial recognition?
It will recognize at most two faces (they're calling it an "alternate appearance").

There's been a lot of speculation but nobody's come out and said that it will support different humans.

Hmmm. I’m counting on it to recognize me and my wife, to help get a little buy in from SWMBO.

Just installed iOS 12 on my iPad Pro 10.5” screen. I didn’t realize the upper screen info would be more iPhone X like. It will take some getting used to seeing the date and time in the upper left but I do like it. I also updated my iPhone 8 Plus and am in the process of updating the watch which is taking its sweet time.

Looks like we are waiting for the 3rd party navigation app developers to update their apps for CarPlay. Looking at you Google! I want my Waze in my truck!

Today's releases appear to have had a noticeable impact on Apple's stock value (which is larger than the paper value of all but a handful of nations).

Nah! The drop in Apple stock price after the announcements were predicted as repeat history. Stock runs up before the announcement day and then sells off for a week or two after. It also was triggered by some analyst reports predicting the new prices were never going to sell. This happens all the time like clock work. I've made most of my gains trading around these events, including this one.

I did the iOS12 on my 6+ but didn't notice any obvious differences. I'll explore later. Upgrading my AW3 to wOS5 now.

I've made my bank on the day of the announcement. After that, I've observed that the price claws its way up (but perhaps not recovering what it lost). I don't recall the price taking a bigger hit when the OS is released.

The calls of too expensive will not abate until the prices truly aren't too expensive but the faithful will continue to hand it over. I don't think the investors are too put off by this since they know that is how Apple continues to print ridiculous amounts of money. Evangelism has proven a powerful money grabbing tool.

It sure was a shocker to all the naysayers last winter when it was announced the iphone X was the biggest sales. I do believe that the new financing schemes are the key to keep Apple pricing and gross margins high.

As for the iOS12- I haven't had time to look at it closely but a dozen apps that were taking 8-11 seconds to launch and 3-4 seconds to update with the refresh are now launching in less than a second on my old 6+. Job well done on that front. But haven't looked long enough to see any new features.

I also upgraded to wOS5 on my AW3 and I see no difference other than my alarm for 7:30AM failed to go off this morning and I overslept. It was set before the update and was off afterwards and I didn't check it last night.

It seems that the updates are really for the new Xs series and the AW4.

I'll post more if I see anything new.

I wonder if iPhone 6 battery preservation mode is turned off by default in this release.
