Internal Hard Drive List for 722 Receiver

Can someone point me to a current list of "approved" internal hard drives for the 722 receiver? After a fair amount of searching, the list I can find is over 5 years old.

It is entirely possible that the list hasn't changed and that's why you don't see a more current list than the one that The Krell posted. The ViP722k made its debut about seven years ago.

Yes, that is the same list that I have found.

I am in a bit of a pickle, as I own my 722 receiver, but am planning on canceling my service in the next couple of months. So it doesn't make sense for me to add the service plan so that I can get a replacement receiver. Dish requires that I carry that service plan for 6 months. But, I would like to have my DVR function until I cancel my service.

Dish requires that I carry that service plan for 6 months.

Just do as I did. Make sure it's working and cancel right away. You pay a penalty, but it's smaller than carrying the plan for 6 months.

For $35 you can replace the hard drive and later sell the 722 and more than recoup the cost.

If you own the 612, then open it up and check the hard drive model. Shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement. I would search here.

Yeah, all those ViP's were deemed LEGACY a long time ago, and there is NOTHING new or updated about them, certainly not a preferred HDD list. Dish is even letting people trash these DVR's because they don't want them back. What "updated" "latest" would anyone expect from Dish regarding these DVR's. Yeah, a 10 year old list sounds about the "latest" one can expect for the ViP's.
