intelsat 5 w/ pansat 2700a?? anyone???

Im pointed in the right general direction but sill nothing!

its not as easy as getting echostar 7, with dish 500 lnb and dish, you can be off by a lot and still get signal, and all i do is move the dish up and down and along the path i get a signal.

with IA5 how spot on do i have to be? and how long does it take for the reciver to respond?? in other words, how long do i wait at each increment of movement?

and what about skew, im set at zero, and the lnb is pointed up right, is that right?

im located in vancouver bc,

any help?

intelsat 5,will i hit nimiq 1 or galaxy 3?

im still having problems hitting it.

if i hit nimiq 1 or galaxy 3 will i get an increase in qaility with the pansat 2700a?

or will the quaility only move if i hit intelsat 5?

and whats with the signal, it stays at 27% even when quaility is 0%

i used to have bell @ nimiq 1 with dish 500 dish and lnb, how far is intelsat 5?

What size dish are you using?
What kind of LNB are you using?

i have a digiwave standard single lnbf and 33" dish

i am using a pansat 2700a.

i cant seem to find intelsat 5 so i was wondering if i am searching the sky and happen to come accross galaxy 3 will the quaility level go up?

Too say it another way you are use to finding the Moon now you have to find Mars if we compair strenght of nimiq 1 with lower power sats.

Get a signal meter and a printout of your sat locations. They sell them on ebay for less than $20 inc shipping.

What is your zip?

lol, i like ur analogy.

i refuse to give into a signal meter, haha!!! never

no i know that what i will have to do.

my zip is a postal code, its v4c5n3

ive got my directions correct. i used to get nimiq1 with a dish 500 and IA5 is just a bit off so i know im in the right direction.

one question though, what about skew angle, would that make a difference??

thanks

i know that, the dish 500 was an example of ease

trying to get ia5 with 33" dish and digiwave standard single lnbf

question is, is it as easy as getting echostar 7?

and with a singal meter will i get a signal even if my skew is not set right?

According to this website:

http://www.geo-orbit.org/westhemipgs/ft5p.html

Your 33 incher may be a bit small to pick it up from your location.

Try to find this transponder - it is as hot as a pistol.

TP3 -> 11789V -> SR=25000

Good Luck...

I know this looks goofy but I merged your two threads...please keep the same topic in this thread :) (makes it easier to follow and then people wont ask questions that shouldnt ne...I didnt know you had a 33" dish until I read the other thread) :)
