After much reading I've decided to take it upon myself to install the slimline AU9S dish myself. I'm aware that it is a 5 lnb antenna which requires a more precise adjustment procedure to get the signals at their peak capability.

I'd like to know if the basic satellite signal meter(the single swing arm type) would be sufficient or does it require one more sophisticated such as the Accutrac 22?

I'll be going with the HR21 receiver.

Personally I would use a specialized finder. I used Accutrac III, worked well and saved me a lot of headaches. Just my personal view.

The meter in the receiver unit works great just need cell phone or walkie talkie and another person to make it work.:)

It is best to have a meter that sends a 22hz tone. There are basic analog meters that have this feature. The focal point of the AU9 dish is 101 WL. Aim there first, then lock down elevation bolts. By sending the 22hz tone, the meter will show 119 WL. Loosen the azmuth bolts, and use the adjustment bolt on the right (as you stand behind the dish) to fine tune 119, then tighten the azmuth bolts. 99 and 103 do not need to be peaked if the mast is plumb.

Fearing what the D* installers would do to my house, I went and installed the new Slimline 5lnb dish on Saturday and finetuned it as described in the book. I have great signal strength but when watching some of the "new" hd channels (History, Biography, Disney, YES, SNY) the reciever goes to searching for satellite signal. When this happens I lose all channels for about 3-5 minutes. I have read numerous posts about problems with recievers or BBC. Is there anyway to check these without replacing them? Does this problem sound like it might be those?
