I have had Dish Network For years and I know want to do a little expansion. Right now I have the standard Dish 500 with twin LNBFs with a sw21 switch that goes to two dish dvr 510s. I would like to do one of two things first would just add one more room (a 301 receiver). What switch do I need for that?

Or i would like to upgrade one dvr to the 522 w/ one cable keep one 510 and add a 301. What do I need for this setup?

To do the 522 on 1 cable with 2 more receviers, you will need a DP+44. If you just want to add a 301, you will have to replace the sw21s with either an SW44(fairty easy, just have to worry about the power inserter) or get a DP or legacy Quad.

ok if i get the quad what would i then need? and how does a quad help?

Thats all you need! The quad fits on your D500 and has connections for 4 tuners. No switches needed.

but i wont get both 110 and 119, would I?
The Quad is like the Twin with 2 LNBFs to pick up 119 and 110 and a built-in switch. The Quad has 4 tuner outputs, the Twin has 2. Both are available in legacy and DishPro versions. Since all your receivers are DishPro you should get the DP Quad version though either will work. You will be able to do either of your proposed expansions though the 522 will need 2 lines run.

Connecting a dual tuner receiver with a single run of RG6 requires a DP Plus switch and a DPP Separator for each dual tuner rcvr. Your options:

- DPP Twin. 522 + 510, retire a 510. Gives you 3 rooms of independent viewing and room to add 1 satellite slot.

- DPP44, replace LNBFs with DP Twin. 522 + 510 + 510. Gives you 4 rooms of independent viewing and room to add 2 satellite slots and a 4th receiver.

Your current dish with 2 SW21s has 2 separate dual LNBFs. Referring to them as "twins" leaves people wondering if you have 2 duals or a Twin.

Question: DP34 + Superdish + two 942s
