infrared adapter/ RF remote 2 question

I have two quick questions, and i really appreciate the help with my last one. I have a customer who wants to mount his receiver behind his giant HD tv. so basically, this question involves the remote. i saw that if you put it in mode 1, your supposed to be able to control the 1st receiver with both remotes. i put it in mode 1, and changed the bands from 1 to 2 inside the RF remote, but i could not get it to change the channels on the first receiver at all. im wondering if theres something im missing so that he doesnt have to use infrared? second question, does DISH make an USB style attachment for infrared so that if he adds a second receiver, he can just put a small infrared somewhere under or over the tv so the remote sees it but the receiver can still be hidden. thanks for all the help.
