With only two receivers, I don't think he's likely to get a call from Audit.

I don't think you can run H/J over cat 5. Yet. Maybe ever.

You could extend the hdmi signal over cat6 with an adapter and even send the IR signal. Up to even 300 or more feet. For a price of course. If he could swing a cat6 cable and his property is less than 300 feet away he could do this without another sat and keep the box in his main property.

Have the installer install the one dish antenna at the house with two receivers on the account. Then, have a 2nd dish antenna installed at the barn/workshop location at your expense, and move the 2nd receiver over to the barn/workshop. Badabing.

No need to run any cable between structures. Both receivers are on one account.
