I'm extremely happy!

I think the biggest issue I have about the equipment upgrades is that a lot of customers who purchased their receivers for big bucks were told their equipment is "future proof". Dish bragged about how they can be upgraded via software updates and such.

I was even told that by DNC installer when I bought my receiver.

After listening on the speakerphone to the call my coworker made today to Dish, the CSRs are still telling people that the 942s and 811s will work with any future programming they will offer. And so will the 6000. "We upgrade the receivers from the satellite" the CSR said. The CSR said that the dish may need to be upgraded but that's it.

Not good.

People are spending their hard earned cash not knowing it will cost them even more just to lease what they have already been promised they would own.

<snip>...For those who bought the 921 at a 1000 bucks it was a disaster.

Well hardly a disaster. I paid $1K for my 921 in 2003 and I'll have had three and half years of good use out of it when I get my 622 in April. That's about the useful life of a computer these days.

You Dont Half To Lease! I Spoke With Dish CSR during Charlie Chat and they sad if you have a loacal reseller that would be willing to swap out. If so I could swap out my 811 for 211 with my local reseller and not do a lease. As long as the local reseller was willing to do that. :)
DishDepot is doing that.
