If you currently subscribe to E* but are going to "transition" over to Directv (meaning that I'll hold onto the most basic E* package so that I can keep my NHL CI package and dump E* after the season) can the same dish be used for both providers since it's pointed in roughly the same direction? I'd like to not have to add another dish to my roof. How do people who have subscriptions to both services do this?

SO, if you're at a town house and don't have a HUGE amount of room, can it be done? Can they make the Directv dish higher than the E* one to still get clear line of sight?

If the E* dish is sticking out further then the D* dish,I wouldn't see why not. Very similar to my set up.

Well,this is not totally true

Dish legacy and directtv legacy eqpt are the same.

Dish used 110/119
DTV used 101/110/119

I have a setup where they SHARE my 119 dish using 2 types of multiswitches

Then I point another dish at 101 for dtv and 110 for dish. If I had wanted 110 of Directtv, it always needed a special LNB, since it mapped 110 signals INTO the 119 signal. I never did install a 110 for DTV dish

This does NOT get me the 5 dish DTV setup but it used to work.

You can look at a discussion for setting up both services at 18inch.com: The Leading LCD Monitors Site on the Net, complete with installation pictures

-edit- That site no longer sells much of anything, and took down most pictures. Looks like it was redone a while back. Used to be pretty good!
