I notice in the dbstalk website you can't talk about "moving" but you can here.

I am having nothing but problems with moving. I spent over 2 hours on the phone yesterday with D* CSR's, only to be told that, even though the system takes my new address, I don't have the right dish to receive my new local channels. Is this a common problem? Would it be possible to have some on this board contact me via email? I very discouraged at this point.

If you are moving arcs, then yes that is a problem. If you have the correct satellites for your moved DMA, just tell them or message DIrT and have them update your satellite configuration on their records.

Does directv have a Dirt team now?

I guess I'm not sure what satellites I need. I moved 30 miles due south from one state to another.

Bottom line unless you are in the spot beam of the locals you are trying to receive, you won't get them.

So tell us which market you are in and what market you are trying to get, and you can look up the TP map to see .

I'm in Harrisburg locals right now and want Baltimore locals. I am 5 miles north of the Maryland line. D* had me do a bunch of things on the receiver (including changing the satellite type) and finally came to the conclusion that I don't have the right satellite to receive those locals.

Well unless you have SD only equipment I see no reason any HR with any slimline couldn't pick up either of those, Since they are both either on the 99 or 103.
Unless Directv is still using the 72.5?

We have a Genie and another HD DVR, a Slimline dish on the roof

I'm not home to check the charts, but if you have a 3 lnb and the Baltimore sd locals are on 119, they won't let you "move".

Rick Esenwine, I just checked the charts, both Harrisburg and Baltimore have their sd locals on 101, so it seems that what the csr told you is wrong.

Ok, well I'm not sure why I can't get them where I am located. I know when we moved from Baltimore to Hanover, I called a few days before the move to set up the appointment and the Harrisburg channels were on our set within a few minutes. Shouldn't the coverage be the same?
