Hello...I have an urgent question. I purchased an XBOX 360 tonight. I also purchased an RCA Video Switch Box in order to switch between my DVD Player and the 360, as well as an optical audio cable for the 360. Even though the RCA Switcher isn't "component", I have seen it work to transmit HD picture with component cables so I thought it would make sense to use.

My 360 worked beautifully. After I was done playing, I switched it back to the DVD setting to make sure everything was working in order on that end, and the "red "on the component cable wasn't working. I checked all of the connections, disabled the switch box, used different component cables into different component inputs, I even used a different DVD player and the "red" still would not work. I hooked up my dish to the DVD component inputs and it worked great, just the DVD player is screwed. Does anyone have any idea what has happened and what I can do to fix it?

I have a Sony progressive scan DVD player and a Yamaha receiver. Thanks for any help on this...

I used the same box from RatShack awhile back. Worked great. Does your DVD player work when connected directly to your TV? If so, bring the box back to RS and try another one. Since this box is a mechanical switch, ( red, white, and yellow inputs) you can use it for component switching.
And it's only $15 or so.

Thanks for the replies. When I was testing things, nothing worked. However, the following morning the DVD player worked without the box. I have no idea what went wrong the night before. I just returned the switch box and picked up a component extender.
