ok--- I have two hd tv s with built in tuners. But I like to play... I have an old hughes e 86 hd direct tv receiver and and Old standard 35 " rca tv. I just had to try to see if I could get a "GOOD" picture from the ota section of the hughes receiver. Yup worked great.

the pbs hd signal (23.`1) from lansing michigan came it fantastic. Yes I understand that the picture was not in hd. But it was the finest picture quality that that set ever produced. Wow you can buy a e86 ota receiver on ebay for 76 bucks and I have seen them cheaper. the outputs worked for both the antenna input from the e86 and the video outs. but would not work with the hd outs into the component inputs of the tv. so if you have a e86 laying around or want to buy one you can have a digital signal for peanuts. It is important that you go into the set up menu and verify or change the resolution to 480i not 1080i.

this was just for fun
