No, they use different software. If you plug it into a 722 you will be asked to format.

Since the Hopper went to the new GUI some time back I don’t think it will work either way. I don’t have a 722 to test it so I can’t prove it either way. It may well work. I guess the OP could try it to prove it either way. It should be said that the Hopper and 722 must be on the same account number.

My EHDs moved from 722 to HWS and they worked. They also still worked when I moved them to my Hopper 3s. Not sure if moving EHDs back to 722 will work. I would think they should. Like you, I think the OP could try.

If not - NO WAY!

If they are - it might, but should do no harm if you don't let it reformat the EHD.

Give it a try and let us know.

BTY, I don't think GUI or old interface should effect reading an EHD, but that's just my guess.

I am waiting on a external power usb hub to attach the ehd to my vip 722. I will let you know what happens.
