I just got my H34 yesterday. It has a software version 0x5fd. How old of a version is this? The number isn't even in the same format.

you have the newest national release (the one in post 1 isnt completelly out to everyone yet)...its dated 1/9. I have the same version

Thanks so much Iceberg. Now I have something else to look forward to in the coming weeks. Their numbering system for firmware does seem a bit strange if it goes from 0x5fd to 067C.

There's a lot of Beta testing being done between the two version numbers. ;-)

Even the 0,2,4,6,8 remote trick won't work in forcing this update to the HR34?

what kind of issues if you dont mind me asking?
Mine has been solid since that update...and even better now that they hooked a SWM8 up for me at the apartment complex so I dont get 771 errors for trying to use too many tuners

On the NR I'm having MRV issues. Every 3 - 4 days my MRV stops working so I have to reset my HR34 to get MRV to work again.

It has just been locking up. Completely freezes and requires a RBR. Another it locked up when i tried to use pandora. It also keeps telling me it needs to change channels to record even though there are only 1 or 2 things needing to be recorded. It's not horrible by any means, but this seems to be the most problematic software version i have experienced with it

no 067C here yet, but I have issues with HR34 "disappearing" from MRV. And when that happens, of course the Genie client doesn't work ("Select Server", "Try Again"). I had to reboot the HR34 this morning. When I had a pair of HR24s my MRV was rock solid reliable. Since getting the HR34 I've had issues with it falling off of MRV, freezing during playback of recorded shows (not stuttering.... FREEZING... as in, "I ain't playin any more of this"). So far the HR34 is kind of a pain in the butt. But.... I have 5 tuners.... when it records right.

haven't rolled me back yet as I'm still on 067C. I do think if there is an issue, it's probably the client performance - since 067C, on my C31 client I've had issues during live tv or playback of screen going black with audio continuing, screen going white or gray with audio continuing, screen turning to blocky multicolor vomit with audio continuing, screen continuously slow-rolling down like a colorized, slower version of what PAL looks like on a NTSC TV with audio continuing, and just tonight a new one of the screen going to solarized video effect with audio continuing. Happens about every hour or two so you'll see some kind of issue with the C31 playback of video every day. HR34 in the main room plays wtihout issues.

I can't chalk up with "windows"-like performance thing to to this release as performance becoming sluggish about once a week or two and then a reboot of the system to fix it has been happening since before I got 067C (goes back to January).

I"m beginning to wonder if the Genie as a whole is just POS or if the protocol used to communicate between the HR34 and C31 is just crap.

I'm also undecided in that I love to play tech troubleshooter with the Genie goes to pot or if it just bites that I"m a paying software beta-tester when Directv continues to roll out buggy code when I"m not even in the special test group!

They started staggered rollout of 067E yesterday. No note changes, expect it is a pretty minor update after they paused the 067C rollout.
