HR2x CE Release 4/24 v.0301

DLB is a great addition. One thing I noticed this AM while I was recording on one tuner, if you use the Quick menu to change a channel you get a pop-up that says something to the effect
Tuner 1 recording channel whatever
Tuner 2 buffering channel whatever its tuned to

and it gives you the choice of canceling the buffer or the recording which is kind of nice. It doesn't give you this option if you just change a channel via the guide.

Now if they would please, before going in and adding more stuff, just improve the remote lag. The response speed to remote commands is kind of bad when you hit "Guide" or "Playlist" on the HR-22. The delay isn't terible but it is a bit annoying at times.

My HR21-700 takes a long time to come out of standby, whether I push the On or Power buttons on the remote. The remote is in RF mode. Report 20090425-1DB3.

I have 2 HR21's that I am testing on right now. One in the Master Bedroom and the other in the Living Room. The Master Bedroom can access the Living Room's play list however, the Living won't access the playlist on the Master Bedroom.

Here are the steps I have taken in order:

1.I attempted to do a new keyword search MRVCLIENTON on both
2. I clicked on the Connect Now" button in the advanced network settings on both (both connected to the network and internet fine)
3. Did a reset on the Living Room HR21
4. I clicked on the Connect Now" button in the advanced network settings on the Living Room HR21.
5. I attempted to do a new keyword search IAMANCUTTINGEDGER then a new keyword search MRVCLIENTON again in the Living Room
6. I clicked on the Connect Now" button in the advanced network settings in the Living Room.

All works now. Just thought I would post what happened since this is my first CE test. I work in a helpdesk so know how importatant it is to log all steps taken to reach the resolution.

remember to send a report to D via the misc menu and attach the diagnostics key to your post above:) thanks for participating:up

Well I have been doing CE testing and posting if I notice a problem but hadn't gotten around to enabling the diagnosis option till today (hangs head in shame) Anyway I did that and sent in a general report, nothing problem wise, but I figured they would still appreciate the data.

Anyway I went ahead and tried also entering the POKEEYENOW option just to check out Daily fortune but after I entered the keyword nothing new showed in my menu. Do I need to do another step after entering the keyword, like go in and enable network services or something, or is POKE a nonworking item for now?

So far it seems to be a great CE for me. I have a HR20-100 and with the exception of last weeks CE, all CE's have been pretty stable for me. I am noticing that HR20-100's seem to have the best luck when it comes to CE's. Does anyone else notice this? Or am I wrong as usual? LOL! I did have a problem with losing sound sometimes, but it turned out to be my TV. I had a Philips LCD and it would lose sound on SD channels thru HDMI with D*. Went and got a 46" Samsung LN46A540 and no sound problems at all.

I was usually pretty happy with my HR-20. The new HR-22 DTV replaced it with is okay for the most part other than the laggy remote response and the fact that they did away with the built in OTA antenna connection. At least after a couple boo who phonecalls they relented and sent me the AM-21 for $25 and then later when I was taking with TS about cables and they found out the installer didn't leave any they gave me another $15 off my bill so I figure the OTA box ended up costing me a whopping $10 with shipping.

Interestingly enough, when I was chatting with TS the lady I was talking with claimed they were planning with new boxes to re-add the OTA connector. According to her they were discovering too many ppl wanted it to just do away with it like they did for the HR-21/22's.

Hopefully the remote speed is a sw and not a hw issue tho and will get better with forthcoming CE's. <crosses fingers>

I love the MRV feature. It works great.

I found a cool use for MRV. I have a slingbox connected to one of my DVR's. Since I enabled MRV, I can now access both of my DVR's recordings thru my slingbox. This is awesome.

I will be buying my first Slingbox in a couple of weeks. I am going for the Slingbox Pro HD. I can't wait. :hungry:

Just glad MRV is back. I will have a comment on DLB when something is on 2 channels I am genuinely interested in. Hard to do on a saturday. LOL No real problems so far. Of course things are a little slower, that normal with these CE's.

The DLB feature will come in handy on sporting events for me ;) especially with NFLST

That sucks. Friggen Murphy's law for me. It looks like I have to wait a while before I lose my CE virginity.

Any word on the cancellation for tonight? They released that awful code last week that caused continuous reboots and let that run for 2 nights, but the more stable software they pull after the first night?

That is probably why. Since everything went well, there is no reason to continue. A national release is around the corner.

(I am trying to be as optimistic as possible):D
