OK so maybe I'm going something wrong, but here a bunch of things that really annoy me about the HR23 scheduling conflicts, I keep waiting to see a fix in an update, but I don't know if it is ever going to happen or if I am doing something wrong (doubt it).

The show you normally watches gets extended by an hour (could be finale). So this now puts you in conflict with another show.

1. The only way I even know that there is a conflict is by going to Manage Recordings -> To Do List. From there I can see what is conflicting. Why on Earth would they make you go there, why don't they put something that notifies you on your screen that you have a scheduling conflict.

2. If the show you are supposed to watch is not able to be recorded but that same show plays 3 hours later on the West Feed (typical of HBO shows), why can't it pick up that show automatically on the West feed. The only way I found around this is to have an entry for both the EAST and West Coast feed in the Season Manager, if it misses the East, then it will pick up the WEST. Very annoying as I have to double my work as well I lose out on an entry in my Season Manager, real estate is already tight being allowed to have only a maximum of 50 items.

I would love to hear that I'm doing something wrong and there is a better way. I hate missing shows and I hate having to always go through my to do list to make sure I don't have conflicts.

My conflicts do put up and error message and also prompts me as to what I would like to do to resolve it on all of my DVRs. I will see if I can force a conflict tonight when I get home a add some screen shots.

When creating a Series Link (channel specific) the system does check for conflicts and give you choices to resolve it. However, a conflict can occur after the fact because of a change to a scheduled time. The system will find a later recording, but it needs to be on the same channel.

You could create a Wishlist recording where it will record everything wherever it finds a match. This create a whole new set of problems.

Careful ordering of the priorities can help alleviate conflicts.

Yes that's exactly the situation where your recording gets lost in the shuffle, only checking the To Do list would tell you if you now have a conflict, so it can easily be missed, it has happened to me many times, especially around season finale season where a lot of shows get extended by an hour.

You just have to be diligent and check the Series Links for these shows.
Football season is a prime example of scheduled shows getting pushed out for possibly an hour.
So you fix that by padding the show's end time, but then this can create a conflict on another show.

I agree with this completely. I use smart search when adding new shows, and if I have 3 at the same time, I just find a later showing of the least favorite, and set up the recordings. Also make sure by series links are prioritized by day, hour and importance. I check the todo list weekly, and when there is a conflict, the HR has no issue recording it later.
