Some programs I have recorded are stopping before the program ends, probably due to earlier events running over their allocated times.
My question is how do I extend the recording time by a few minutes to preclude this happening?
As I remember, there was an option to do this on my old HR 20 but I can`t figure out how to enable this on my HR 24-500.

when you set a timer you can change it for each recording (to record 1 minute after)

or do like I did and just set the defaults to something
go into the recordings (timers) and near the bottom it says "record defaults". There you can set it to record only new items, how many to keep and start/end options. I have mine to start/end 1 minute (1 min early 1 min late)

Yeah from the program's information screen select either Record, or Record Options if it's already been set

but you can set the defaults so EVERY timer starts 1 min early ends 1 min late...so in the guide just press the record button and the defaults take effect

The 1 minute doesn't always hack it. Especially CBS on sundays. They are habitually late in starting the prime time shows. Best thing to do is go under "to do list", then click on the desired show. Pick the "episode options" and leave start time in tact but extend the ending time to whatever you think will be adequate. In my case for example during football season, I add 1 or 1-1/2 hours to be safe. Then when viewing, just fast forward to the start of your show. Works very well for me.

I had some time today to follow Iceberg`s instructions for setting the timers.
I went to MENU then RECORDINGS, the only 2 options are PLAYLIST and MANAGE RECORDINGS. There is nothing at the bottom of the screen.
I must be doing something wrong???
