Last night for the first time my HR24 was switching the res to 480P on me. It was saying something like "receiving auto control" on the tv then it would keep switching the res down to 480P. I did a red button reset and that seemed to work. Has anyone else had this issue?

Sounds like a handshake problem to the TV. I suspect you are using HDMI.
I would also turn Native Off in the HR24. Force it to always output 1080.
