I guess since this has been asked and all the other forums have it, we should have it too! So that I do not steal anyone elses work, I will provide links. There are two very easy methods by which you can do this, and thereby a couple of camps you can be in. Hinsdale / SteveoTivo or Sleepers ISO, they are worlds apart and you should choose the methods based upon what you would like to do.
I am not sure of the forum rules here so I will not address some of the features you can get. I will update this thread as needed and as requested on a regular basis. I WILL NOT provide any assistance or guidance in relation to service theft! PERIOD! The purpose of this thread is to help you get those out of your TiVo without having to do all the searching that I did. Upgrades can be a lot of work
If you simply want to upgrade the capacity of your TiVo your best shot is with Hinsdale. Here are some good links to the content for that:

If you desire to truly unlock the power of your TiVo, Sleepers ISO is the way to go. Sleeper has scripted all of the available hacks for Tivo which allow for a lot of advanced functions. If you want this info just Google Sleepers ISO. Now he ticked off his main supporting board but the information is out there.
