Even with no OTA right now, I would upgrade if it was free. I guess anyone would lol
2H/2J install. I took the $15 install and enrolled in the service plan. The deal was for $200 + $15 install. The first install date was a bust and they were a no-show and cancelled without calling me. Exec office set me up with a free 2nd Hopper and the install happened a week after the original install date.
Just received my first post-install bill and I'm paying $100 plus free install for the 2H/2J system.
DISH picked a terrible time to change their web site, computer systems and equipment authorization scheme. The installer had a hell of a time getting authorization, I have been locked out of my BB@Home account, had my addresses all jacked up to where the BB@H disc were shipping to a wrong address, locals not matching my billing/service address, PTAT not engaging even though it is enabled... Other than that, the system is working pretty well and DVRs and shows TV! I've had no issues with the system other than PTAT not getting with the program.
Oh yea, I got 3 mo. of free Playboy for my troubles.

I've read a bunch of these posts and joined this site just to get in on this discussion. I've been trying to upgrade to the hopper since it came out, almost every other week with no luck. Dish network wants to charge me $749 for the hopper and two joeys. They won't give me a clear answer on why I can't upgrade. One person told me that I need to sign up for paperless billing and auto pay, that it might help.
I've got 2 dvr 625's with the pp that dish says I'm leasing and they also say I'm not in contract. Is there anything I can do besides cancel? Is there anyone on here that has some other advice?

Solar.Any ideas if the hopper packages will be cheaper or more expensive at the end of the summer? I'm just wondering if Dish has some quotas or goals to fill now since the ad campaign is still in effect and prices might be better now then say in a few months.
Dish doesn't generally lower the price of hardware for at least a year, or more likely, two years. If anything, these might be "promotional", i.e. lower, prices ! I don't think so though...
I'd like to know how some people are getting free installs. I had to pay $100.00.

I am getting 1h/2j tomorrow for $100. I was told install was free cause I have protection plan.
While chatting with the CSR online to have them remove the protection plan (our free promo runs out in a few days) I asked about the Hopper upgrade and now I'm being told I can lease it, but it will cost me $400 to LEASE. No thank you!!
Have you not tried DIRT? You know the protection plan can be removed via dish.com, right? I would check with DIRT instead of the online chat thing. Those CSRs are just a little bit smarter than the phone CSRs, however DIRT are 1000 steps above them all.
The wife asked about Hopper this morning, and I told her I was going to wait. But, if I could get that deal, I would dump my 922 in a second.

Total los of Signal periodically on a couple of channels. I put the PP on to save the $95. He offered me 2 Hoppers and 3 Joeys for $200. This is far better than the original cost of $700 that I was quoted back in March. I told him I was waiting for the ota module to be released.
Tech found out that I was getting a 14 lnb drift on 72.5. Replaced the lnb
