How does the DTV receiver get programming info.

I no longer have a home phone, I only use my cell phone. How does DTV get its programming to the receiver? If it is only done thru a phone line, then I cannot get DTV, but if it is somehow beamed thru the satellite then I would be ok.

I currently have Time Warner cable with TIVO. The Tivo communicates thru my wireless modem so I have no need for a phone line. Can the DTV receiver do that also?

The EPG is D/L via the 101 satellite (main bird) phone lines are not required but encouraged; they only allow the receiver's features to be "fully functional".
