need help installing

I have never owned a satellite system and i am looking to get a 942 from dish and i was wondering what dishes i would need(500, 300, superdish?)? And how would i need to hook it up? I live in canada so dish can't really install it for me. And could you tell me the difference between satellites 61.5, 110, 119 and 148? What features do i get on all these satellites and should i have them all locked in? I know i sound like a newb well thats because i AM. your help would be very much appreciated

adding locals

I was wondering I live in Canada and i want to get locals from somewhere in the states on dish is that possible?

Sort of welcome. Please don't get huffy about nobody answering you about getting an illegal system.
In Canada, you should get a BEV system -- I saw that they were offering the 942 equivalent at a reduced price and you will get some national networks that we cannot get. The less-than legal method is using a broker/friend in the states to get the equipment. You are unlikely to be in the footprint for locals unless you are very near the border. Superdish depends on whether you need them for "locals" or international. 61.5 and 148 depend on which coast you are near and your sight angles and will only buy you some public-interest channels unless you are looking for Voom at 61.5 -- you did not mention HD. Maybe you need to better define your wishes beyond the core 110-119 and why you do not want BEV.

Well BEV sucks i get all those stations on digital cable here and i would rather watch American Television Channels like SciFi , HBO, etc. and on BEV they just spew the same channel out 20 different channels at different times its a waste of money for me plus i don't get my favorite TV series Stargate Atlantis on BEV west because its only on Movie network which is only available on BEV east

Why isn't FX in Top 60?
