How about The "Me?"

Dear All,

I took a look at the OpenSat web-site, to see what their "Me" receiver offers. I cannot understand most of their explanation, except that when I finished, I could almost believe that buying a "Me" would let me surf the Clarke Belt effortlessly. Sadly, I do not trust that impression. I have found that manufacturers often promise to deliver the moon, sky, and stars. Having been on a couple of "galactic" trips myself, I am at least a little wiser.

I congratulate you folks on your experience and training. With loads of hard work, you really make your AZ Boxes sit up and beg. To my technically uninformed and klutzy eyes, they look like nests of snakes.

I am a technical ignoramus whose "expertise" consists of making my Pansat 9200HD perform well occasionally, except when it freezes up and shows me the ROD (rug of death). It is slaved to our DSR-920.

I want to buy a machine that will function at least with my Pansat's reliability, while otherwise delivering the beautiful Clarke Belt performance that AZ promises. In addition, I want the receiver to control my new Norsat LNBs' skew. I would like to reduce having to use so many remote controls.

With those ideas in mind, please tell me how good the AZ Box "Me" receiver is. Is it substantially better than the AZ Box Premium HD Plus?

And, thanks a lot.

Sincerely,

Gordon F. Corbett

Dear All,

Thanks so much for your information. I started this thread because when I looked at the AZ website, it seemed to be saying that the receiver has been on the market for a while; consequently, I wanted to see what its good and bad points are. Maybe we all will have learned about them by Christmas.

Thanks for setting me straight.

Gordon
