Hopper 382

Changed it back to the Classic version. No like the Modern version or waiting for the internet to bring it up
THANK YOU for posting this - all this new "feature" does for me is bog down my (already slow) HWS's & has NO value whatsoever for me. Matter of fact when I was doing PIP & doing trick play between tuners, it ended up erroring out & locked the damn screen up! Once I switched it back to classic, no more errors & it now works like it did before.

Yes, I never use the home screen. But I don't get why everything has to look like everything else these days. Why does MacOS have to look like iOS? Why does Android have to look like iOS? Why does Windows have to look like a mobile OS? Why does Linux, of all things, have to look like a mobile OS? (At least I can *fix* that one freely, easily and nondestructively...)

What is the method to change that? My H3 is already on last channel, but my Joey4's go to the home screen by default.
On your Joey remote press Home twice to get to Menu, select Settings, Select Power On and go to any one of the three settings: Show Home Screen, Tune To Smart Channel, or Tune To Last Channel. Home screen is where you are at is my assumption. Change that to one of the other two. Smart Channel is kind of an AI thing that decides what you usually watch at any given time using your history and automatically tunes to that channel. I personally hate that one but YMMV. I tune to last channel.

Tune to last channel is no longer available in my H3 with the Plus.

Can't be done on the Joey 4's and Hopper+
I see that. No option for that. Usually just hitting "Select" once everything is on goes to the last tuned channel. Not as wife friendly as I'd like. Overall I really like the Joey 4s, but there are some features that are not well thought out. For example, if you enable HDR bandwidth in your TVs HDMI settings, all output from the Joey flags the content as HDR, even when it's actually SDR. This causes inaccurate color on the TV for most content. If you select Standard HDMI on the TV, you won't get any HDR even when the content is actually available.

The Hopper 3, on the other hand, only flags HDR for HDR content. This way the TVs separate picture settings are properly adjusted without having to change the HDMI settings all the time on the TV. I had one of the product managers say that this was a Google requirement. That can't be true since using the TVs native apps instead of the Joey works perfectly without any manual intervention.

The issue is the same on all of my Samsung and Hisense TVs, so not a TV issue.
It's a minor annoyance, to have to manually manage that. If this could be fixed in firmware on the Joey, it would be darn near perfect.
