There are no plans for it. If you want Two Hopper 3's you would need two accounts.

I am thinking about adding a "tailgater" Wally as a backup when the Wally comes out. I'll just stick up another Dish 1000.2 and run a line to the Wally. That way if the H3 goes kaput for a few days I'll still have the Wally to use.

I like having multiple Hoppers as a back up because stuff happens. :eeek
I don't get very concerned about that as I tend to archive my recordings to the external drive. And with the H3's 16 tuners, that may very well be something power users will start doing more of.

Why is it wrong? Guess it prevents account stacking.

And also if you need more than 16 tuners you need another Hobby than watching TV. :D
What do you mean account stacking? I don't even know what that means. It may not be the number of tuners that some folks would like more than one Hopper. I want a second one for redundancy and keep all my racing sports on a separate Hopper because that is the way I like to organize my timers. When my kid still lived in my home I wanted him to have his own recording capability and be completely separate from my Hoppers for obvious kid reasons. Dish has always (that I know of) allowed accounts to have more than one DVR or receiver until the Super Joey came along. And then there were lots of members wanting more than one Hopper with the SJ too. And yes, you are probably right, I need another Hobby other than watching TV but I don't want another one. DISH knows there are lots of folks that want two Hoppers. I bet at least 30 to 40% of their customers have two Hoppers or more. It is too bad they didn't design the new hybrid LNB to have two Hopper capability. They should think more of customer satisfaction and additional profits with more Hoppers in the system.

You could wire it to the same dish but will only work when the H3 is unplugged.

BTW to answer the question about why they didn't design the LNB to handle more than one Hopper 3, the answer is that would be more then Moca 2 could handle.

That was my plan and why I had two HWS, but now I intend on having one HWS + the following and then getting an H3.

LOL.

I had an older version of the duo with a 722K, loved it. It was cool, you could power down the drive and DVR, pull one of the drives out, and the DVR would not know any difference. RAID 1 is pretty neat and makes for peace of mind.

Always been a fan of WD prebuilt EHD's.
