Hopper 3 Locals On Wrong Channel After Address Change

I have an odd problem that Dish is unable to help me with. When I change service address my local channels and Primetime are goofed up. At the old address 3 is CBS at the new address 3 is NBC. The guide shows programing for the former CBS channel. If you go to the channel it is NBC. It will not let Primetime record and you can't manually record anything unless you wait until the show starts.

I have tried many reboots, tried rebooting with dish disconnected, unplug for 30 minutes, tried many rehits from Dish CS and tried a method of going way forward on the guide. Nothing works. Seems like it has memorized the old guide data and won't dump it when a new set of locals put in.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't say over what period of time you tried those things but my first answer is wait for overnight like so much of Hopper things that need time to work. Second answer if that does not work is to ask for a refresh of your account. Third answer sometimes when something is wrong with locals it is because of the way your account is provisioned.

I recently went from the dual tuner OTA adapter to the single tuner one because I was losing channels with the dual. I had the same situation you describe for several channels for a few hours and then everything went to normal.

The channels will change with a Service Address change, that is expected. PTAT does it scheduling a couple of hours ahead of the Prime Time period and only after the EPG has downloaded the new channels. That can take a few hours and I don't know any way of accelerating it with a Hopper.

With the VIP receiver, it seemed that running a Switch Check would cause an EPG download, but not the Hopper.

We only switch Service Address if we move out of spot beam because of this. If we do change a spot beam, we try to get the Service Address changed as soon as we arrive hoping to get the EPG downloaded. But quite often, it is the next day before the EPG is caught up.

Same here. Guide data "moved down" one channel until the nightly update, then it cleared up and showed correctly

I tried the account refresh and running check switch. It does not correct itself overnight.
One time in the past I got it corrected by a 2nd tier Dish tech but that required having the Hopper connected to the internet (not always possible) and the tech accessed it and somehow forced it to do a complete rebuild of the guide info. That was a 2 hour ordeal.

Thanx you for the OTA dongle info. I was told matter of fact by a Dish CS rep that it would work. I didn't think it would either.
