I think that a lot of newcomers to FTA don't realize that it is not an alternative to Dish or DirecTV (or cable) if you are looking for premium programming, and many of them think it is "consumer-friendly", which it is not. It is a hobbyist-oriented, heavily technical method of receiving satellite signals which are usually not meant for home users. My neighbor is always asking why there are so many dishes and so much equipment (switches, LNBs, cables, etc.), not understanding that this is not just a simple setup to receive TV like his DirecTV is.
