Dear Sir,

Thanks for letting us know about your concern regarding DIRECTV's HD programming service. After years of preparation, we’re excited that the first wave of new HD channels should be on the air by the end of September. Here are the channels we expect to be available first:

A&E HD
Big Ten Network HD
Cartoon Network
Cinemax HD East
Cinemax HD West
CNN HD
ESPNews HD
Food Network HD
FSN New York HD
HBO HD West
HGTV-HD
The History Channel HD
Madison Square Garden HD
NFL Network HD
National Geographic Channel HD
Showtime HD West
Smithsonian Channel HD
Starz Comedy HD
Starz Edge HD
Starz Kids & Family HD
Starz HD East
Starz HD West
TBS in HD
The Movie Channel HD
Versus HD / Golf Channel HD

While details are still being finalized, we’re planning to bring up the following channels in October:

funny, espnnews isn't going hd until early january 2008.

and the official company line has always been by the end of 3rd quarter which is sept. 30.
 
Check your program guide on Wed (tomorrow) at 6:00a EST - first wave is coming. Get your HD DVR's ready
 
Well it will be interesting to see if they provide as promised.

so basically all the HD channels i dont want to see get launched tomorrow. ugh..just give me FX and Bravo already!
