I have a dish tailgater for about 1 month as of yesterday the system does not work and I have done everything dish days to do. I'll unplug wait 10 seconds the plug in. It says it has a problem and does a 38 check switch it fails then hopes looking for satelites and in about 6 mind menu pops up complete signal lost. Called dish nothing

Do you have a single 50' or less RG6 cable from tailgater to 211? Also, has the 211 already downloaded the software?

I would replace the cable.

I believe the tailgater is a dish pro setup. If it's doing 38 check switches then I don't think it detects the dish.

What is the software version that is on the 211, and what is the full model (211z/k/regular)? Replacing the cable is a great start and should automatically boot to the portable antenna screen.

If the Lnb on the tailgater is Dishpro the check switch should go to 4, signal or no signal.

Software makes no difference because the tailgater had been out for 4-5 years. Unless you just pulled the receiver out of a crisp new box, I wouldn't be concerned with the software version.

If the system was working a month ago, it's either a bad box, bad tailgater or bad cable connection.

Since it goes to 38 on check switch, I lay odds it's the cable
