Hello, I was looking for advice on how best to reconfigure my current Dish Network setup since I will be adding a new HDTV to the mix I currently have set up. I'll try to explain the current and new situation as best as possible since it is confusing.

Current

Room 1 downstairs - 1 HDTV with 1 coax outlet connected through a HD DVR 622 receiver which displays and records for this set and the current one in room 2 described below.

Room 2 upstairs - 1 Regular TV with 1 coax outlet receiving broadcasts as second TV from HD DVR 622 in Room 1.

Room 3 upstairs - 1 Regular TV with 1 coax outlet receiving broadcasts from separate regular dish receiver.

NEW - Adding one HDTV to room 2 as a PC monitor and HDTV, but keeping the regular TV. Since the new HDTV will be a PC monitor most of the time, I need to keep the regular TV that currently is TV2 with my 622.

Problem - I only have one coax outlet in room 2, but need it to receive SD TV as it does now (as TV2 to my 622 in room 1) AND feed a HD dish signal to my new HDTV that doubles as a PC monitor. How best can I accomplish this setup?

Thanks for any help.

The 622 can't feed the PC Monitor a HDTV signal so you need to run an additional line from the DISH to the location of the new HDTV and you will need a 211 receiver for that location. Seeing you have 2 receivers already connected you probably have a DPP Twin that is maxed out so you will need a DPP44 switch added to your system.

Thanks, Boba. I actually had another thought, but wanted confirmation on if it would work. Basically, room 2 will have the standard def TV used most of the time and the new HDTV/monitor. Can I turn off the TV2 functionality from room 1 (using it only as a single tv receiver), then get a 211 receiver for room 2 and connect both the standard def and new HDTV to it? I know that the twp TV's in room 2 will be limited to the same channel at the same time, but I'm thinking on the rare occasion when I want to use the new HDTV/monitor for viewing TV, the kids will be asleep and no one will be watching the standard def TV anyway. Thoughts?

Thanks.

True, you can't send a signal to a standard PC monitor; however, if your monitor also has component or HDMI, you may be able to use that with the 622.

Yes, the HDTV monitor is the Westy 37" 1080p model that has 1 HDMI, 2 x component, and 2 x DVI connections (among other non-HDTV inputs).
