Quicksilver,
Downlink and Phlatwound are technically correct, it can't be done, but here is a workaround I use in our kitchen setup. I didn't store the drawing in the correct format, so I'm not able to include it, but I'll give you a description. We have an old crt TV so we have to use a converter to receive OTA. I think there are several combinations that might work for you, but here is what works for us.
1 Antenna coax connects to converter box coax connector.
2 Output converter box using the 3 component rca cable [yellow, red, white] to vcr rca plugs [marked "in"]
3 With your dish hooked up to your receiver, connect a coax from "out to TV" from receiver to "in from antenna" on the vcr.
4 Output your vcr feed via 3 component rca cable to the rca plugs on your TV.
5 Use the VCR to switch between feeds via channell "00" and 03".
This works for us, but there are other possibilities I have not tried but MIGHT work with a little experimentation.
If you have a new TV with the digital tuner built in, connect your antenna to the "in from ant/cable" on the back of your receiver and output it to your TV, using the "input" button on your remote to toggle between the FTA and OTA feeds. Again, I have not tried this, but I think it might work.
If you have an older TV and no vcr, you might try a variation of the same thing. You'll need to program your TV to work on your Viewsat remote, or you'll have to use 2 remotes. Try inputting your converter directly to the RCA inputs on your TV and coax from your receiver to coax connector on your TV using channel "00" and "03" to switch feeds. Some combination should work for you. Some newer TVs will let you swith "inputs". The 1st setup is what I use so I can record if I want to, and also I'm too cheap to buy new equipment while this stuff is still working good.
I don't know anythong about the new TVs and the different kinds of cables and inputs so can't comment on how that might affect things.
What I use works flawlessly for us, if your equp is different, you will have to try some other stuff but I'm confident you'll find a way. It's great having the OTA and FTA available at the touch of a couple of buttons.
BTW, if you use a Magnavox converter model # tb100mw9, you can solve the low volume problem by getting into its menu, select "initial" and keep going until you get to the audio output menu, select "RF out".
Good luck
