Can someone help me out? I have a slimeline 3 dish with aHR21/100 hd dvr.
During the day my signal readings are
101 96-96
99c 95-95
99s 77-77
103s 77-77
103ca 95-95
103cb 95-95
SWM 100-100
But at night around 10-11 my signal goes bad low 60 or gives me the 771 error. My FX, TNT SPIKE and some others for example will pixal and just freeze and i cant watch anything on these channels. But as soon as the sun comes up mid morning all is good. Also no trees or ubstructions are in the way, clear sight. This is driving me nuts. Has anyone had this problem and what could the problem be. Thanks

Could be too short of connectors outside and the cooler nights are causing them to shrink to the point they lose contact or a possible bad LNB. Is the message 771 or 771a? Also, where is the power inserter plugged in at? Is the green light on when the tv stops?

power is inside behind tv and yes light is green, also all the connections are tight and plenty of slack not too much.

You can have all the slack in the world but if that stinger inside the connector is too short it'll cause this. See it a lot this time of the year with it getting colder out at night

I had a similar problem. Found a barrel connection on the roof in which water had entered into it causing it to rust the connection. Replaced the connection and barrel. Problem solved. After fixing the connection, I put heat shrink around all outside connectors and barrels to prevent water from entering the connections.

Welcome to Satelliteguys cattledog36!

As others have said, it's likely a bad connection or lnb. My guess is lnb.

So you would check the stinger in the cables from the LNB to multi switch? The four of them

I'd check all them. If its SWM and (I believe you are using less than 8 tuners) you should only have 1 live line coming from your dish. I'd check there and the ground block and the splitter if its outside. Also check connections in basement, attic, and crawlspace

Not if he has a swm8 multiswitch.

I had that problem with a SD lnb once. If the temp got below freezing, no signal. When I went through troubleshooting with D* they were following a script, so, didn't actually listen to what I was telling them. They sent new receivers, which, of course, didn't solve the problem. Battled it for a winter, then just got another LNB, problem solved. I didn't actually look at the connections, but it was either bad connections or lnb. It was a cheap fix since it was just a single LNB with dual output.

He's not got 1 receiver. I think it's unlikely a SWM8. I'm still sticking with either a bad connection (too short) or a cold weather LNB.

Like I posted earlier, I think it's a bad lnb, too. I was only pointing out the possibility of him having a swm8. You are right that he probably doesn't.

Ive checked all the connections and everything looks fine, I have a new LNB on order I will see if the problem is fixed most of the problem happens on the 103 ca sat it is doing it now during the day intermitten. Then it gets better so it makes me think the LNB is going bad.
