HD21 Audio Crackles

I have owned DirecTV for many years and have had various receivers, all with good luck up until my HD20 got zapped by lightning. I got a HD21 as a replacement and it's OK except so one annoying thing......... static/crackling when it changes audio modes... fairly loud. I use HDMI like before. Anyone else hear this?

Could the HDMI audio in the TV or AV receiver have been zapped as well?

Connect using the analog audio to hear what happens.

BTW, what is an HD21?
