HD Questions

Ok guys I am new to hdtv just got one last Saturday and some locals coming in ok on rabbit ears but I am wondering when I do upgrade to Directv HD will my locals still have all the channels like D 9-01, 02 ect. or just the main network feed? Also if I hook it up to the tv using HDMI will the non HD channels come thru there too or I still need Video 1 (s-video) for them..might be a hassle for the techno-handicapped in the family if they have to switch to many things back and forth. Also anyone know if they will offer existing customers the same deal as new ones anytime soon? I know when I went DVR I waited till I saw Circuit City offer it with a rebate that made it free for new and existing customers.

Most places, maybe all, only have the main network feeds. Some locations have some but not all the nets in HD, and some don't have them yet at all. You need to check on the D* website with your zip code.

All the channels come thru on every output. Of course, HD is only HD when viewed on HDMI or component.

Call Retention and see what kind of deal they give you. Most customers with a good payment record are getting the HR20 free, or nearly so.
