this may be long, but it's my first post...bear with me...

i just became a dish network customer this month, only after numerous no-show installations & multiple hassles with customer service.
then the technician failed to install the DVR unit i requested. two MORE no-shows later, they're "supposed" to replace the unit friday.

i was told by a CSR that i would receive a two-week credit for the regular programming i originally ordered. (then they failed to note this in the records, i had to hold forever to get a supervisor to honor this promise)

ANYWAY...sorry for the annoying details.

for a couple of weeks now, i've been getting channels that were previously restricted. (besides the 3 months of free hbo)...i'm talking the whole bundle...even all the dirty channels ;).
and not just the "free preview" channels.

is this a technical glitch? my account summary shows i'm just receiving "america's top 60." and since they didn't apply the 2-week credit until today, it's not likely they were making amends by giving me freebies.

is this a fortunate accident? or does dish network offer free extended viewing of ALL the premium channels?

thanks.

hokiecb....
believe me, no complaints here whatsoever.
just really curious if someone knows how this may have happened.

Keep your mouth shut and your fingers from pressing 800-333-DISH on your phone and you'll be golden.

The phone does report PPV, thats how it works remember and if she is getting all the PPV's thats about $300 - $400 and hour of PPVS right? I dont think its a glitch so much as you may not have " your " receiver as you may have someone elses. Its one thing to get a few channels but if your getting all of the channels including all of the PPV's then your box is a molested unit or someone at dish has made some serious mistakes and has somehow gotten past all of the safegaurds.

sorry if i was confusing, but i'm not getting the ppv.
getting everything else...all the "skin"emax channels (even though i don't see cinemax even listed as an option on dish network's site), showtime, starz, encore, etc.
before, i wasn't even getting animal planet.

don't be too envious, though.
all this will probably come to an end friday when they install the DVR unit. they have to communicate with DN to program in my subscription channels. right?

(VAN, you're on to something. ...my sat service went dead only a few hours after installation. the sweet man at DN's tech support said he wanted to "wring the installer's neck" because he programmed in the wrong unit...the serial number for the unit he installed wasn't congruent with what DN had programmed. so the unit DN had on my system info screen was probably still in the installer's truck. but he corrected it.)

I don't think she's getting the PPVs- I think she's saying she gets the subscription premiums, including adults.

Enjoy it while it lasts.......Hate to hear about all the bad stuff before though.
