Well, I had to reset the receiver, as when I would blind scan, nothing new would appear, and een after clearing out the satellite, nothing at all would scan in. So, I did a factory reset, and now a getting LOTS of channels!

So, now starting at te low end - 43w, I am on PAS 3R, I used to get 2 channels. Now I have 10! I have Italian, Spanish, and some other unknown stuff. :) Now to keep going and scan back in all satellites!

Has happened to me now twice with my Fortec Mercury II. This time, though, I deleted a bunch of unncessary transponders (i.e. the 4-digit frequencies) and also didn't bother hitting the bird at 97W. Plus, before I did a factory reset on the receiver, I wrote down some of the frequencies that I definitely wanted to include on certain birds.

Well, I am still having problems with the receiver wanting to take channels. If I manually scan a TP the channels scan in memory. If I do it in the auto scan, they don't go in. Maybe I better get the Coolsat 5000 ordered. :)

blind scan finds new tp's
auto scan uses stored tp's prestored from memory if i'm thinking right
at least thats what its like on my coolsat

I meant blind scan. I can;t remember what it's called on the fortec, but what it is doing is finding the new tp's, but when it goes throiugh after it does the scan, when it lists all the channels it finds, it list them ok, but then goes to "no channels found". At the moment it is working (on the last 2 satellites) at least.

My Coolsat 5000 has done the same thing, I have fixed it by Factory reset and also by deleting TP's, so this looks to be common.

Hasn't happened in a long time , but now I regularly delete saved TP from feeds often.

FireBuff -

I keep reading this thread, and it's very unsatisfying.
You implied you had a Fortec in one post, but didn't say which model.
Please specify.
You've got me concerned. :)
