Dreamt I was in Georgia with long lost cousins and they had this bad ass FTA setup. They had some sort of uplink box, and we we're futzin with the video camera and watched our own uplink. Kinda nice. Will that ever happen? Sign up for an uplink box and do shows. LOL

You used to could send a video to a service called "UonTV" and they would uplink it for a small fee. It folded and SOAC (Smile Of A Child) replaced it, a Christian kids channel.

I think SOAC just filled the spot when UonTV went belly up. UonTV was a cool concept but after seeing the "so and so family reunion" or the 4 wheeler video that many times you knew something wasn't right. Then they just showed paid programs

Any idea of when a new microcasting service of the sort will ever come back to life? That blows. I was looking foward to uploading a video to them.

I've been a lurker for a while here... but DynamiteMedia, is this really going to be on a satellite? Or are you talking internet or cable?

-If this is via satellite, is it really only going to cost <$50 for 30 minutes?
-KU or Cband?
-Digital or Analog?

At those prices, you can't pay the prices on transponder rental. They charge an arm and a leg.

You should actually see if someone whom already owns a transponder is willing to rent out for trade/barter. That is an idea. I don't know....i wish you luck.

If you just want to post video online, it'll be a lot cheaper... and easier... and surprisingly, at first, you'll actually probably have more viewers.

Just grab a webcam and a youtube account.
