H2H/DSR410 and SES1

Apologies if this has already been discussed...

Us 4DTVers and DSR410 users are grateful for the extension of service through Comcast and AMC18.

3 "big" topics of discussion are:

1) No locals
2) No news (CNN etc.)
3) Contract terms for Discovery channels

So...why can't we "use" SES1 and AMC18?

SES1 deals with #2 and #3 very neatly and I seem to recall in a different thread the 410s can recognise at least 2 satellites, obviously for the 4DTVs this would not be an issue.

It seems like an obvious "easy win", which probably means it isn't!

I suppose there will be SR issues for the 4DTV?

Yes they are in combo mode so the 410,905,920,922 can't get them.

That's the one I have. It'll do DVB, and DCII in combo and split. 4:2:0 and 4:2:2. If it has ASI out it'll do HD of all these signal types too with an external decoder. I have the HDD-1000. I "stole" mine off eBay for $75! If I was to buy one today, I'd probably give that much for it, since the prices of this type of gear have been steadily climbing. I wouldn't go much higher than that though.

I'm with eurosport, auth my Commercial Box - problem is that doesn't help raise consumer subs

You could add something you don't already have and if it does not work call srl and ask them to switch it over to a different unit.

Really? Wow I'd give that a go for a few bucks, 1 month of a single channel would be worth a punt!

I presume you'd have to tell the Digitrans what EMM it was using, is there anything else to set? Would you need to be on a specific channel to take a hit?

I know it's not for everyone but it would be cool!

I'm gonna have to fire it up and run through the menu's... EMM provider doesn't sound like a menu item I remember... Also it came with an actual paper manual so I'll page through that as well
