I have two boxes: 1. VIP 722 and 2. VIP 222
My 722 I never have a problem.
My 222 the guide will never update past one or maybe two days. When you try it says its downloading data. When it completes it still only has data for one or two days. Also this same box loses signal several times a week in good and bad weather (I have to hold the reset buton to get a signal back) while my other box never loses signal.

From what the dish store says:

211K MPEG 4 HDTV Receiver

Other then that you may have a cabling or a switch problem and thats why your losing signal. Start with running a check switch and compare the two to get an idea of whats going on.
Or you can call for service call. Good luck.

IF you pay for dvr service and attach an external hard drive to the 211k , you can get 9 day guide. I have it on my 211k and NO dvr fees.

So what's the difference between the 222 like the OP has and the 211k? I'm guessing they have mostly the same features if you guys are giving info on the 211k instead of the 222.

IIRC, 211 1 output and 222 2 outputs. Too bad no EHD for 222?

BTW, originally the guide was for 2 programs (not hours) and this still exists when the guide transponder is unavailable. Then came 2 days and later 7 days with PVRs and now up to 8 days, so you can preprogram the whole week.
